Missionary Speakers David and Rosie Kerrr
David and Rosie Kerr are serving the Melanesian Field of the Asia Pacific Region. They were appointed in November of 2008 after two years of
service in the Caribbean Region.
David will be a professor at the Melanesian Nazarene Bible College (MNBC) in Papua New Guinea and will be developing the extension education
program as well as helping with church development.
Rosie is a Family Practice doctor and will be working part time as a physician at the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital until their girls are both school
age. Rosie and Dave serve an incredibly diverse Region with 24 countries and well over 1,000 primary languages.
David received his BA in history/biology education from Northwest Nazarene University in 1993. He went on to earn a M.A. in Instructional
Technology from San Francisco State University in 2000 and an M.Rel. in pastoral ministry from Northwest Nazarene University in 2006. Rosie
received her BS from Northwest Nazarene University in the field of biology/pre-med in 1993. She then attended Medical School at the University
of Washington, earning her MD in 1997. She completed her Residency at the University of California-San Francisco as a Family Medicine
physician and has had a wonderful practice in Yakima for the past six years.
This is David and Rosie's second missionary assignment. They previously served the Caribbean in the areas of Discipleship, Literature,
Computers (IT), Mobilization, Children's Ministries, and Compassionate Ministries. Along with their professional vocations, David and Rosie
have always believed lay ministry to be a priority as they were blessed to serve as lay youth pastors at Seattle 1st Church and at San
Francisco New Life Church, and then as college-age directors at Yakima West Valley. David was a public school teacher of history and biology
in grades 5-12, and then served as a professor and program head at Yakima Valley Community College in IT. Rosie, along with her medical
practice, has also been a Sunday School teacher, ladies bible study leader, and revival prayer night coordinator, and invaluable partner with
Dave in ministry.
"The future of our church rests upon making disciples. This is done intentionally, one person at a time. Both you and I need to be discipled
and be discipling another person in order to properly build a church that can conquer the gates of hell and bring holiness to the many lives
that so desperately need this gift of Jesus."
The Kerr's have two wonderful young daughters: Grace, born March 27th, 2003; and Anna, born February 16th, 2005.
There will be a fellowship following the service.
